Ararat Mountain

Noah's Ark

A proposed site for Noah's Ark is situated south east of Dogubeyazit near the village called Mesar (Uzengili). Turkish and American scientists have done some research and have found evidence of flooding (on the ground and in the geology). They have found an old nail fossil and several kinds of water life fossils at the site. There is also a shiplike shape in the ground.

Ishakpasa Palace

Building began on Ishak Pasa in 1684 and took a century to complete. It has Persian, Armenian, Ottoman, and Selcuk motifs throughout. The place has views over Dogubeyazit and the surrounding area. In 1934 the city of Beyazit moved from below the Palace's walls to Yellow Valley and was renamed Dogubeyazit (East Beyazit). Ishak Pasa Palace has a main plan similar to that of the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul.

Saw Stones

A special Hotel Isfahan walking trip. We do the trip to Saw Stones 30-40 times each year. Although the climb to the stone looks daunting it is an easy and safe walk. We walk to a height of 300 metres for an excellent view of both Small and Big Mount Ararat. We get there before sun rise around 3 a.m. It is one of the first places in Turkey to see the sunrise. It is a very enjoyable trip.
